Commitment from the ruling group would save Britannia Park children’s playground from unwanted military museum
Despite it’s bizarre plans to build a military museum on a children’s playground and park in the deprived area of Butetown, Cardiff Civic Society can reveal that the council’s ruling group have actually pledged NEVER to build on city parks (see file below).
In 2013 the current ruling group pledged that:
This Council reaffirms this new Administrations manifesto commitment to preserve and protect our Public Parks, Playing Fields and Open Spaces for the free enjoyment of all.
A spokesperson for Cardiff Civic Society said: “It is welcome that Cardiff council’s commitment to never to build on city parks has come to light. We look forward to them honouring their pledge and to stop their strange plan to sell Britannia Park to the museum of medical history,”
